Growing Healthy Futures: Apply for the NYCPS Sustainability Project Grant with Green Beetz
The NYCPS Sustainability Project Grant is now open, and it’s an exciting opportunity for schools across the city to bring meaningful, hands-on sustainability programs to their students. At Green Beetz, we believe that helping young people understand the connections between food, health, and the planet is key to creating healthier communities and a more sustainable future.
By applying for the grant, schools can choose to partner with Green Beetz to bring our engaging curriculum, interactive workshops, and fun, food-centered projects directly to their students
What Schools Can Do With Green Beetz
Core Curriculum Offering
- Five engaging lessons taught by a Green Beetz educator
- Teacher training on the full Green Beetz curriculum (covering environment, health, and society)
- A Green Beetz Farmers Market culminating event, where students shop for healthy food and prepare a nutritious snack together
(Package: $5,000 for up to 25 students, including all materials and snacks)

 Climate Action Days
Bring sustainability to life with immersive, school-wide projects:
Food Waste Audits to spark dialogue around waste and composting
Poster-Making Competitions where students create sustainability PSAs
Solar Oven Science Projects that connect renewable energy and food

 After-School Culinary & Sustainability Programming
Each week, students dive into a new theme about food, health, and the planet — while learning plant-based cooking skills and creating recipes together.
(Starting at $750 for one session, $3,000 for a six-class series)

Interactive cooking classes bring students and caregivers together to prepare and share a healthy meal.

Food education and sustainability training for teachers and staff, available online or in-person.
